  1. You apparently don't understand the meaning of the word predator. You brushed off the innocent little boy like it was nothing. I see the name Neal a zillion times in this letter. Try deeply looking through the eyes of that young boy AND his family have gone through. You are victimizing them yet again.

  2. How could anyone, especially a teacher we have entrusted with our children, be this ignorant? She never witnessed any inappropriate behavior, therefore it didn't happen. Really? Do you actually believe that this homosexual pedophile didn't make any efforts to conceal his criminal behavior? He likely spent some time grooming this young man before raping him. He likely threatened the boy and his family. He very likely has done it before, or would certainly continue to do it if given the opportunity. Harriet, you are hopelessly stupid about the world. The tone of your letter suggests no empathy for the vicitmized child. How could any woman be so callous about the torture of a child? How could you? Like most evil predators this man was able to project the image of a caring, compassionate, wholesome and nurturing mentor in order to maintain acces to victims and diminish suspicion that might arise about his behavior towards these boys. You should not be in a position of authority in the care and mentoring of children.

  3. I see that he volunteered with the girls basketball team, he volunteered with the band camps, he volunteered with other 6th grade activities...just a way to feed his perversion and be in close contact with these children. And yet his co-workers see it as kind and caring for the children when quite possibly it was feeding his own self.

  4. "During school sanctioned events there was never any inappropriate conduct between Neal..." so that begs the question that Ms Coe, there was inappropriate conduct outside of school sanctioned events?

  5. As disgusting and sickening as Mr. Erikson's actions were, the group of teachers that continue to openly support him may be worse human beings. How can the taxpayers of that community continue to sit back and allow this insanity to continue? THEY ALL ought to be arrested for being complicit by virtue of their inaction.

  6. Do these teachers worship Satan together, this is unconscionable. The "supportive" teachers are just as bad as the pedophile himself.

  7. Wow. Hariett Coe this is a sad look into the eyes of a handful of this community's teaching staff.
The 10 of you have been groomed by Mr Erickson as well.
    You are truly naive.

  8. Everyone has been duped by this man. A child's life was hell for many years and these teachers are giving him letters of recommendation! One incident is one too many and I have learned that pedophiles are never cured. He deserves everything he got and more.

  9. A mistake is failing a child you should have passed or perhaps cutting the kid from the team that would have worked harder than someone with natural talent.. Those may be mistakes.. TAKING PICTURES of sex acts with a child student is not poor judgement, is not a "mistake" it is a heinous crime that can never be fixed. Can never be taken away and a crime this child will have to live with forever...so should the perpetrator.SHAME to the people asking for anything less...SHAME

  10. Appalling to a jawdropping level. And they say this isn't the end of the world we're watching here, hm?

  11. The letters from Neil Erickson's associates were just so beautifully blindly nihilistic, self-serving, and so weakly thought upon for the impress in actual effect, . . . to have received such letters--wow! No wonder that, so very many bar members consider the general public as creatures of a low psychological class, . . . And, actually telling the judge what he should do--good golly Miss Molly, . . . "supporter"(?) Amy Huber really put the icing on the mud cake, I search the net for humor, . . . Amy definitely qualifies, . . . telling the judge what he should do, . . . oh gosh but that one is just wonderful, . . . hard t'top, . . . sheesh! Dear G0D in heaven save us from the Michiganites

  12. As a 15 year teacher, I would not support anyone on my staff who committed this disgusting and criminal act. Of course he is going to repent, he is sick and has been putting on an act his whole life. Harriett, you are a gullible pushover. What predators like this do is "groom" everyone around the children so as to not be suspect and you fell for it disgustingly. Someone like him wants to be trusted alone with children. How do YOU know he has never done anything to any other children. You are so naive, it makes me sick.

  13. His "one" criminal act ???? That would be counter to the typical profile of a child molester / predetor. Or is she defining "one criminal act" based on the fact that this is the one time he's been caught ? Statistics demonstrate that child molesters are rarely, if ever, "cured" regardless of the time they spend in prison.

No child is safe in this school. Not now and not so long as this many teachers find nothing to condem in their colleauge's behavior and can brazenly stand up and beg for lieniency for his "one criminal" act, while totally discounting the long term damage done to his young victim.

They all sound like the child somehow victimized his abuser by speaking up ! What possible hope could there be that anyone would listen or act to intervene if a similar incident occured with another teacher?

If the school board can't take any action against the molester's cheering squad, then let the parents take their kids out of those classrooms. The loss of state aid that is tied to attndance might force a reduction of the workforce. Meanwhile, Michigan's Schools of Choice will make it possible for concerned parents to transfer their kids to another school district.

  14. Maybe if it had been YOUR 13 year grandson Neal did this to , you would feel like a grandmother and want to get a hold of him by his balls and make SURE he never did this again. TO ANY CHILD. Do you teachers never bond with your students and know they count too? Or do you just treat them like cattle? You are a SICK person.

  15. Remove your children from these classrooms . Will send a clear message to the school.

  16. Perhaps Harriet Coe's and the pervert's other supporters background should be looked into. This could possibly be a groupie thing of preying on children.

  17. I'm not surprised at this type of letter at all. After all, it is Michigan, isn't it? it is the home of Detroit, isn't it?

  18. Are you kidding me? He volunteered for everything, he volunteered for camps . . . do you not see a problem with this? This letter is a slap in the face to the children who have been molested. Yes, I said it . . . "children" not the child. If this man has admitted to the one child, please know that there ARE others. Wake Up! You have a friend who is a monster and has been hiding it from you. I live in Michigan and it is shameful that this monster is being defended by his peers. This is not a man who made one bad decision. WoW! Open your eyes and support this child and his family. They are the real victims here.

  19. I am totally stunned. How could Harriet Coe and the other teachers look in the mirror and not see the monsters they have become! Thank God my children will never be in their classes. It makes me sick that this group of teachers support this pedophile. These people have the morals of junk yard dogs. Sure, they have the first amendment right to speak out. More importantly, parents should have the right to NOT have to send their children in the midst of people who have no decency. I would not trust my children into their care. They should be required to wear a T-shirt that says "I support Pedophiles" when they are teaching so the parents and children can be warned!

  20. The Salem witch trials reenacted before your very eyes.

I suggest that all you people hyperventilating over these letters do some googling about the Amirault family in Massachusetts and how they were all railroaded by a bunch of hysterical people trying to "protect" children.

you might also wish to know that a consensus is forming that Joe Paterno was posthumously railroaded. and let's not forget George Zimmerman in Florida.

there is nothing wrong with asking for leniency for a close friend. Mobs are a dangerous thing.

  21. As a fellow Michigander and normal human being with morals, SHAME on ever single teacher that wrote letters on behalf of this monster. I may be only in my early twenties (around the same age as the VICTIM today), but even I can see that this is wrong. Good thing I live far away from this city, because I would never let my future children near those shameless, poor excuses for teachers.

You would expect a teacher to know right from wrong. Apparently not. This makes me sick. The only question I have for those "educators" is, what if that was YOUR child that it happened too? How would you react to your child being molested by an adult you have put your trust in?

Let that sink in. You all give Michigan a bad name.
